KATZ’S DELICATESSEN, NYC Day 4

Although we savored some of the most amazing food in the city, our trip would not have been complete without experiencing some good old New York deli pastrami. Katz’s Deli on the Lower East Side serves arguably the best pastrami anywhere, and has been doing so since 1888. Hand sliced right before your eyes, Katz’s famously rude staff serves up huge portions of juicy pastrami on rye. Just don’t ask for mayo.

One bite of this sandwich and I was hooked. Lean, yet incredibly juicy and flavorful, Katz’s pastrami is definitely among the best. Enjoying it in a classic deli atmosphere, right near the table where Meg Ryan had her big “I’ll have what she’s having” scene in When Harry Met Sally made our visit nothing less than classic.
